This very cute little hat for a newborn baby is soft and warm and would make a gorgeous photo prop. Knit with super chunky yarn this hat knits up in an evening and would make a wonderful last minute gift.
This pattern would suit beginner knitters and is a perfect opportunity to practice knitting in the round on a small project. Techniques used include knitting in the round, increasing (make one and knit front and back), the (optional) tubular cast off and working an I-cord.
Gauge is about 3.5 stitches and 4 rows per inch (in stockinette stitch). Finished size is 9.25" circumference and 5" in height (not including I-cord).
