I love the cable cast on, it's stretchy, tidy and fast.
1. Make a slip knot.
2. Knit into slip knot without taking the knot off the left needle.
3. Put the worked stitch back on the left needle.
4. Inset needle into space between the previous two stitches.
5. Wrap working yarn anti-clockwise over RH needle.
6. Draw loop back through (as though knitting a stitch).
7. Transfer loop from RH needle onto LH needle.
Repeat step 4 to 7 until the required number of stitches are cast on.
